66°N

Our project 66°N highlights the critical importance of the Arctic in a changing climate. Arctic temperatures are rising three times faster than the global average, accelerating snow and ice melt. This impacts local ecosystems, contributes to rising sea levels, and drives extreme global temperature events, with far-reaching environmental, economic, and social consequences. The Arctic, which holds some of the most untouched land on Earth, faces increasing pressures from climate change.

In the coming years, we encourage composers to explore themes connected to the Arctic—whether social or environmental—to shed light on the challenges faced by its landscapes, wildlife, and communities, and to raise awareness about their struggles in the face of change.
